Founded in 1890, Illinois College is a private, liberal arts institution located in Jacksonville, Ill. The college enrolls more than 1,000 students in academic degree programs in several fields of study. Its services and facilities include career counseling and guidance, student organizations, financial aid, food and transportation services, and a fully stocked library and bookstore. The college offers programs in various subjects, such as accounting, arts, chemistry, biology, business management, education, economics and history. It also offers other courses, including French, German, music, communication and rhetorical studies, computer science, environmental studies and leadership studies. Illinois College provides additional study programs in management information systems, mathematics, political studies, psychology, philosophy, physics, sociology and religion. The college offers preprofessional programs in dentistry, law and medicine. Illinois College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
