Pastor Roger Nelson desribes Hope Christian Reformed Church as broad-minded, accepting and liturgical. Founded in 1965, the church attracts members from Oak Forest and surrounding communities, making it a commuter church. The congregation's 119 families are a compilation of members from Oak Forest, Lincoln Park, Lansing, South Holland, Frankfort, Mokena and Lockport. The church building was planted in Oak Forest as neighborhoods sprouted around it. Located across the street from Jack Hille School, services are at 10:00am every Sunday. Weekdays, the facility is available for use by public organizations. Hope Christian Reformed Church offers a vacation Bible school and other activities for youth. Programs for adults include a book club, quilting group, Hope's Association of Retired People (HARP), parenting support groups and prayer groups. Hope Christian Reformed Church is a member of the Oak Forest Council of Churches. The church often raises funds for Together We Cope, as well as contributing to food drives for the St. Damian Food Pantry.
