I was looking for a Makeup Artistry school when I found this program, I was fortunate to find a staff that was very personable and informative. I decided to enroll and what I found was that Cosmetology is a very large umbrella that covers so many aspects of beauty. I could learn another skill and while enhance the one that I already had for Makeup Application. I learned so many things from life's lessons, to customer service and professionalism all because of their hands on, one on one training that I received. Since the completion of my course I have worked with some well-known faces in the business. I now work with FOX-TV Network, and the NBC affiliate show Judge Mathis and Pirro. And it's still a place I will always call home. It took me 12 years to get into school. I'll start next term, can't get a loan, have to work... Life Happens! Then I found myself in a position where I could finally go, and Merrillville Beauty College made that happen. Before I knew it I was in uniform sitting in the freshman class. I sought my license thinking... "Someone can always use a haircut", not a bad way to make a few extra dollars on the side. I could not have been more wrong. The year I spent here has changed my life. Cosmetology is now a career not a hobby. This career is taking me across the world to a runway job in Spain, as part of a stylist team doing hair, make-up and wardrobe for the dancers on a live television show.
