Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley was incorporated in 1990 and is a nonprofit housing organization that provides affordable housing in partnership with those who lack adeqaute shelter. In April 2006, Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley opened the doors of ReStore, with three things in mind: -To provide a continous source of income to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley home building program. -To provide home improvement and building materials to people who may not otherwise be able to afford it. -To divert usable materials from overflowing landfills.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Elgin, IL is a 40,000 Sq. Ft. retail facility that accepts new and used donated home improvement and building materials from the individuals, contractors, retailers, manufacturers and distributors. ReStore resells the items to the public at greatly reduced prices. The funds generated from the sale of the items go toward the home building program of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, while also reducing the amount of building materials that would otherwise go to overflowing landfills.
