History
First Ascent Peoria is the first full service climbing gym in Peoria, Illinois. We opened in January of 2019 with a mission to spread the love of climbing in the heart of Illinois. Our 20,000 square foot facility features an exciting adaptive reuse of a steel supply warehouse in Peoria's Historic Warehouse District and is the culmination of a partnership between local Peoria climbers and First Ascent Climbing & Fitness. Built by climbers for climbers of all ability levels, First Ascent Peoria offers incredible climbing terrain with climbs set for new climbers and seasoned veterans alike, a dedicated yoga studio with a full schedule of yoga classes, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, the instruction you need to reach the next level, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a warm, welcoming community that will make you feel right at home. Built by climbers, First Ascent features 14,000 sf of climbing surface up to 50 ft tall with climbs set for all ability levels. Our members and visitors can also enjoy a full schedule of yoga classes in a dedicated yoga studio, a fitness area with all of the equipment you need to achieve full-body fitness, and a community space where you can hang out, connect with others.
