Faith in Place is a Chicago-based organization dedicated to promoting environmental justice and sustainability through the engagement of diverse faith communities. They work with Green Teams of all faiths, providing coaching and resources to create lasting change in the areas of climate change, energy, environmental advocacy, youth empowerment, sustainable food, land use, and water management. With a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, Faith in Place believes that the environmental movement must be rooted in social and environmental justice.
As an affiliate of Interfaith Power & Light, Faith in Place acknowledges the traditional lands of the indigenous peoples of present-day Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. They express gratitude for the land and the people of these Nations, past and present. Through their programs, events, blog, podcast, and free resources, Faith in Place aims to connect individuals and communities, inspiring them to care for the Earth and take action towards a more sustainable future.
