In 1947, Emmanuel Baptist Church was founded as "Airport Baptist" in Chicago. Though it was part of the General Association of Baptist Churches for more than 30 years, the church voted in June 1989 to move the congregation to Lemont. Its current facility has been its home since December 1989.
The church offers regular Sunday services, Bible study groups and Sunday school for children. The church also gives back to the community with ministries that help senior citizens and families in need. The church is led by Pastor Stephen Meister.
