History
The Divernon Township Library began as a volunteer lending library started by the Divernon Women's Club in 1966. The Divernon community was quick to rally around the growing new library by donating books, shelves, and desks. The library continued to expand and the residents of Divernon voted to officially incorporate the Divernon Township Library in 1967. The library continued to thrive through the efforts of dedicated volunteers until 1974 when the growing demand for the library's services made it possible to hire a part-time staff. The library went through its latest major change in 1999 when it expanded to fill its current building.
