Formerly known as Centennial Park, Danny Cunniff Park was renamed, remodeled and rededicated in 1999 after the Park District received the largest private donation ever from the family of Danny Cunniff. Danny fought a brief but valiant battle with acute myeloid leukemia, which he ultimately succumbed to 37 days after his diagnosis.
Danny Cunniff Park offers something for everyone. Some of the park's features include two lighted baseball fields, a fishing deck, a nine-hole Frisbee-golf course, two lighted soccer fields and 12 outdoor tennis courts. There are playgrounds for tots, preschoolers and grade schoolers. The sled hill is very popular after it snows. In addition, there is a 1.5-mile walking path around the park.
