Founded in 1901, Colonial Caf is a chain of restaurants that serves various food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Simon Anderson, along with his three sons, opened several ice cream and dairy stores. Through the years, these ice cream food shops have expanded into full-service restaurants. The restaurant offers ice cream in various flavors, such as vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, coffee, chocolate, cinnamon and peppermint. It features several specialty desserts, including the PBF Chipper with a Reese s Cup, Heath Toffee Crunch Chipper and Mint Fudge Oreo Chipper. The restaurant s chicken specialties include chicken pot pie, mushroom chicken, chicken stir fry and chicken Parmesan. It serves a variety of salads, soups, pasta dishes, pizzas and seafood items. The restaurant also offers sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas and beverages. Its ice cream is available in supermarkets, drugstores and restaurants throughout Chicago. The restaurant runs a fundraising program that helps to unite families, friends, neighbors, students and faculty. Colonial Caf has a presence in Naperville, Ill.
