Established in 1945, the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH), is dedicated to preventing illness, detecting disease, and promoting both personal and public health. More than 2 million suburban Cook County residents are served by the department's 300-plus employees. Services range from preventive and primary care to early detection of disease. The CCPDH is the state-certified public health agency for suburban Cook County, with the exception of Evanston, Skokie, Oak Park and Stickney Township, all of which have their own agencies operated by local government.
