Founded in 1978, Chinese American Service League is one of the largest nonprofit social service agencies in Midwest. It provides child education and development, employment, counseling, health care and social services to children, youths, families, job seekers and senior citizens in Chinatown, Armour Square and Bridgeport areas of Chicago. The agency s child development center serves more than 50 children from ages 3 to 5 years and from low- to moderate-income families in a day care setting. It also provides early child intervention services, family support programs and a variety of after-school educational and recreational activities. The agency s housing center program offers seminars, workshops and individual counseling on financial literacy and housing. It also offers a cultural retention program that provides children, youths and adults a chance to learn and understand traditional Chinese artistic and cultural heritage thorough classes in dance, music, drawing, kung fu, mandarin and calligraphy. The organization is located in Chicago.
