History
The Chicago Red Hots is a roller derby club formed in December of 2012 by Kola Loka, an experienced skater who wanted a family and fan-friendly version of the sport. Frustrated by the rules that she had been playing and with a vision of the sport becoming more mainstream and widely legitimized, she and co-founder Dani Get Your Guns embarked in the creation of a team to play under the recently created and fan-friendly USARS rules. It was not long before a number of players from several leagues across the Chicago area began practicing with the team, attracted by the rules, the relaxed environment and the fresh concepts that the Red Hots team provides. In 2013, our first year of competition, the Red Hots won 4th place at the USARS National Championship. In 2014, we are bringing fast derby back to Chicago with games at Cicero Stadium.
