The Chenoa Community Fire Protection District has been serving the community for over 100 years, starting as a Bucket Brigade funded by the firefighters themselves. In the 1940s, it became a taxing body and expanded its coverage to approximately 100 square miles around Chenoa. With a three-member board of trustees and 21 volunteer firefighters, the department responds to around 80 emergency calls annually and conducts regular training sessions. Equipped with pumpers, tankers, rescue vehicles, and more, they ensure the safety of the area they serve.
The Chenoa Fire Department's prized possession is the Clown Truck, a 1923 Graham Brothers vehicle purchased in 1952 to promote the Chenoa Centennial. This iconic truck has participated in numerous parades across the state, only missing one due to a flat tire. With their dedicated team and impressive fleet, the Chenoa Community Fire Protection District remains committed to providing fire protection and emergency services to the community.
