The Chatham Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that offers fire, rescue and emergency medical services to more than 15,500 residents. It is a member of the Sangamon County Fire Chiefs Association and the South County Fire Protection District Association. The department maintains a fleet of engines, trucks, trailers and utility vehicles. The Chatham Fire Department works to protect the lives, property and environment from the threats and occurrences of emergencies. In addition, it provides training and educational programs in general safety, emergency response and life saving techniques. The Chatham Fire Department has been operational since 1928 and is located in Chatham, Ill.
