The Center on Deafness is a not-for-profit organization that has served much of Northern Illinois for the past 30 years. The center works to educate community and family members about deafness and have made it their mission to assist deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals become fully active members of their community. They also work with the hearing impaired who also have behavioral disabilities.
This organization offers a full-time therapeutic school for deaf individuals ages 6 to 21, as well as a vocational program and employment training program that helps clients become adjusted to the working world. The Center on Deafness also offers sign language classes for community members.
