History
Calico Cafe is located next to an historical Grain elevator which is the tallest building in town. It is located on the railroad tracks and on the other side of the parking lot is an Old Stone Building one of the oldest buildings in town. The owners, Jamie and Kalico have owned and operated this family buisness since they were 22 and 20 years old! Jamie grew up working in his parents' restaurant since age 13 and continued cooking in the area all through High School and College. As far as Sheridan it is a river town located on the Fox River and has been a camping, vacationing community since the early 1900's as it was home to historical Glen Park. It was also the home of Baseball great Si Johnson who was know for striking out Babe Ruth and in the Cafe you can read about him. There is a nice park located right across the street for the kids and a library with Wi Fi for anyone who wants to hang out for a while.
