Established in 1845, the Illinois Saint Andrew Society operates as a charity organization. It supports music, art, literature, dance, history, genealogy, food and drink, and cultural, academic, business law, medical exchanges and sports. The society hosts several annual events, including Burns Supper in January, a variety of Tartan Day celebrations in April, Highland Games and Scottish Festival in June, a Kilted Classic Golf Tournament in September, the Scottish North American Leadership Conference in October and Anniversary Gala Dinner in November. The organization is located in North riverside, Ill., and provides residential services for the senior citizens in its Scottish Home.
