The family-owned BrickHouse Bakery and Cafe occupies a quiet nook in the busy Pickwick Place plaza. It welcomes customers with a bright yellow dining area and sandwiches, salads and house-made desserts. With "Good Food & Drink, Extraordinary Hospitality," as its motto, BrickHouse, which opened in 2008, features six indoor tables and three outdoor tables for al fresco dining. Peggy Wright's desserts lure customers from a behind a glass case. Her specialties are a red velvet cupcake, topped by a chocolate kiss, and the Brick & Mortar: a dark chocolate cake made with Grand Marnier and topped with ice cream and raspberry sauce.
