History
The life of a homeless dog is not only difficult and dangerous, it can be deadly. They are often starving, sick and injured. This is especially true in Mexico. For the lucky ones that end up in one of the few shelters, the number of people looking to adopt a pet in Mexico is far lower than the amount of animals needing homes. Our mission is to decrease the homeless pet population in Mexico and the US, as well as arranging transportation, foster homes and adoptions of the animals from our partner rescues in the Cancun area. While the primary focus of Border Tails Rescue is international pet adoptions, our compassion and commitment to animal welfare doesn't stop at the border, we also are working to help reduce the number of homeless pets locally by accepting owner surrenders and working with shelters across the country including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis. We work with high kill shelters and rural rescues
