Blackburn College, founded in 1837 and located in Carlinville, Ill., is an independent, coeducational four-year liberal arts college. The college houses more than 450 on-campus students and over 100 local commuter students. The college offers majors, minors and certificates through subjects, such as art, communications, English, modern language, music, biology, philosophy and religion, chemistry and physics, computer science and mathematics. The institution also offers subjects, such as physical education, history, education, political science, psychology, and business and economics. Additionally, it offers sports activities, including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
