Blachford is a leading manufacturing company, providing industries with innovative, custom-designed industrial products. With over eighty years of experience and five North American manufacturing locations, it serves a wide range of markets, including construction and off-highway equipment, commercial vehicles, plastics, steel, rubber, metal working and wire. Founder Henry Lloyd Blachford opened his original business in Montreal in 1921 as a sales agency for chemicals used in the rubber, paint and ink industries. In 1960, Blachford became active in the United States under the name H.L. Blachford and began manufacturing and marketing noise control materials. In 1989 H.L. Blachford was sold to German interests who, in turn, sold it to the American firm Masland Industries. Blachford was created in March of 1995 when Masland sold to H.L. Blachford the west Chicago plant along with the equipment in it and other assets used to make products for the non-passenger car market.
