The Batavia Interfaith Pantry has served Batavia and outlying residents since 1981 as a volunteer, non-profit agency. Needy families can receive groceries once a month from the downtown facility. The pantry feeds more than 350 families a month with donations and support from multiple area churches.
The pantry is located in a storage building donated by the city that was later renovated and expanded. Pantry volunteers also deliver food to those who qualify yet cannot make it to the pantry. The pantry is a member of the Northern Illinois Food Bank Cooperative.
