Established in 1960, Aspire is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of education and health care programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Illinois. It serves more than 1,000 children and adults, as well as has a staff of over 400 employees. The organization offers treatment solutions for children suffering from autism, cerebral palsy, chromosome disorders, Down syndrome and mental retardation. It provides mental screening, psychiatric evaluation, health and nutrition support, and occupational, physical and speech therapy services. The organization additionally offers skilled nursing, sensory integration therapy, therapeutic care, crisis intervention, skills development, employment training, rehabilitative and consulting services. It also provides counseling services for patients and their families. Aspire is accredited by the Commission on Rehabilitation Facilities and is licensed by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Illinois Department of Labor and Illinois Department of Public Health.
