Energetic and goal-minded members of the NIBCA are committed to this group. The foundation of the Membership Team is to recruit and retain new members. Members of the Team organize membership drives and new member orientations. Team meetings are usually held the 3rd Wednesday of the month.This Team endorsed the NAHB Green Building Program as a service offered to the members of NIBCA and were affiliated in August 2008. The Team oversees the full implementation process, marketing efforts, and educational opportunities for Builders, Associate members, and the consumer. The Team meets the 1st Thursday of each month.The "Fun Committee, " as it is often referred, organizes the major membership events of the NIBCA. Summer event, annual golf tournament, and the year-end event. The Council is made up of NIBCA Associate members and meets as necessary to plan events. The Council urges all NIBCA Associate members to be a part of the Associates' Council.Concerned members of the NIBCA comprise this Team. As the "watch-dog" group for the NIBCA, members volunteer to monitor area Government agencies to insure the Building Industry's standards are well represented. This Team is shouldered with the responsibility of notifying the NIBCA Board of Directors when issues of grave importance require action by NIBCA Leadership NIBCA members who have sponsored 6 or more members into the Association within a 2-year period are encouraged to be an integral member of this Council. The Council strives to compliment the efforts of the Membership Team and provide recognition and awards to Spike members who promote the Association's membership retention and growth. The Council organizes and sponsors an annual summer event open to all members.This highly regarded Team organizes educational opportunities benefiting class and seminar attendees with new skills and detailed information pertinent to the various trades within the building industry. The Team is committed to raising donations to support the NIC Scholarship Endowment Fund and community/school outreach. Team members meet once a month or as necessary.The mission of the NIBCA Public Relations Team is to promote the NIBCA and build value of membership in an effort to gain and retain membership. To inform the membership and the general public of political and community achievements made by NIBCA members in areas of social, community, charitable, and in governmental and political arenas. And, to further promote the successes of involved NIBCA members due to their active membership. The PR Team's primary focuses include the NIBCA web site and monthly newsletter, DIMENSIONS. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month.As the second of the two key fundraisers of the NIBCA, members of the committee organize the largest marketing promotion available to builders of North Idaho. Presented as a scattered-sight Show, past Shows have show cased 10 to 29 NIBCA Builders. The mission is to promote NIBCA builders, their projects, suppliers, and trades people during the 6-day Show.The Home & Garden Show is one of the two key fundraisers of the NIBCA. Members of this committee enjoy the creativity and hard work of combining 100+ diverse businesses into a 3-day show encompassing 5 buildings and respective outside spaces at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds in Coeur d'Alene.As the political arm of the NIBCA, the North Idaho Builders Political Action Committee works with the NIBCA but remains a separate entity. Members of this committee interview candidates and review the voting records of those seeking re-election to determine those who support the Building Industry and the positive effect our industry has on the economy throughout the state. NIB-PAC is consulted for candidate support recommendations by the state-level PAC prior to primaries and general elections.
