Opened in 1916, Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel has provided caring service to generations of Idaho families. During those years, the funeral home has been owned and operated by four Boise families: the McBratneys, the Aldens, the Waggoners, and the Gordons. Alden-Waggoner has chosen not to follow the trend of out-of-state corporate ownership where funeral home profit is the only goal. That means our commitment is to provide your family with options and services that you choose at reasonable prices. William McBratney began the funeral home in a store-front location on Idaho Street near Seventh. In 1929, he moved into a building at Ninth and State Streets. It was the first building in Idaho built specifically as a funeral chapel. Earl Alden purchased the funeral home in 1949, and was later joined by Earl Waggoner and Tim Alden. In 1973, Alden-Waggoner relocated to its larger, modern facility at 5400 Fairview Avenue. Steve and Myrna Gordon joined the firm in 1982. For nearly 100 years,
