The Idaho Department of Administration works to promote business practices through technology and facilitate purchasing and cost savings through statewide contracts and streamlined processes. It manages and protects facilities assets and controls on-going building lease expenses, as well as provides services to minimize overhead and operating costs for state government. The department operates an insurance and internal support division that coordinates employee insurance benefits, including health, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability insurance. The Idaho Department of Administration also maintains a division of public works that oversees statewide facilities management and construction operations in building, remodeling, maintaining and leasing state buildings. It works under the government of Boise, Idaho.
