History
At Sunset Beach, now the famous North Shore surfing venue, a group of children and young people had been having a Bible School in a small rental house. With this small beginning, the Still family began to contact others in the community and soon had to move to a larger house for the growing group of worshippers. They began looking for property to buy and in August of 1950 began the purchase of the property that is now the 'Fellowship Hall' for the church. In 1951, work began on an adjacent building, a former military barracks like the fellowship hall, to house the growing congregation, then known as 'The Sunset Beach Church of Christ, and often referred to as 'The Little Brown Church' at Sunset Beach. With the purchase of the second property and an adjoining farm lot the stage was set for future growth of the church.
