HistoryProject Hawaii originated in California as Christmas Wish Program in 1988. Moving to Hawaii in 2002, implanting new life changing programs, we changed the name to Project Hawaii, Inc. Over the past decade we have seen hundreds of children escape their cycle of poverty, go on to college, gain meaningful employment and raise their own children in a home! Our educational programs have won several awards on the national level and our teen mentoring program is used in high schools across the country. Our dedicated volunteers strive to provide year round support to thousands of homeless children and help them gain the self confidence and life skills to succeed.SpecialtiesProject Hawaii, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our homeless keiki and help them escape their own cycle of homelessness. We provide year round service to the homeless unsheltered children living in extreme poverty on the islands of Hawaii. Project Hawaii offers an award winning summer educational program for the homeless children helping them to learn the skills necessary to escape their cycle of poverty.
