CU Hawaii was organized in 1955 as the Big Island Businessmen's Federal Credit Union. As we grew to become a community credit union, we changed our name to JCC Credit Union. Widening our vision towards the 21st century, we changed our name again. Proud of who we are and where we live, we're now CU Hawaii Federal Credit Union. CU Hawaii is a financial cooperative owned by its members who share a common bond of employment, residence or association. As a credit union, we are unique because we are part of a movement with objectives different from those of other financial institutions. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our primary objective is to provide exceptional service to our members, rather than making a profit for stockholders. By collectively pooling members' resources, you as a member, can get low cost loans and earn higher rates on your savings. We are a full-service credit union serving over 25, 000 members with assets in excess of $245 million. During these years of continued growth, the philosophy of the credit union has not changed. CU Hawaii is here to serve its members- the owners- and that makes important difference. Our focus is you.
