A beautiful brick-and-white columned home on South Milledge Avenue serves as headquarters for the activities of UGA's Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Abiding by the motto "Friendships may come and go, but sisters are forever," ZTA members socialize, perform community service and learn together. UGA's Gamma Pi ZTA chapter began in 1949; in 2004, it was recognized as the nationwide sorority's top collegiate chapter. Around campus, Zetas are also members of UGA cheerleading, Arch Society, the Honors Program, Crossroads, Leonard Leadership Scholars, Relay for Life and the Georgia Recruitment Team. Zeta Tau Alpha's national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness; to this end, the UGA chapter sponsors the Diamond Challenge Softball Tournament as a fundraiser. In 2008 alone, it raised $44,000 for this cause.
