Valdosta State University is one of the oldest providers of higher education in the United States. Located in Valdosta, Ga., VSU has been operational for more than 100 years. The university enrolls more than 10,000 students annually. It is approved by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The university features student resource centers, athletic facilities, state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories, research units, and classroom and fine arts buildings. Its library stocks more than 1 million bound and microfilm volumes, magazines, journals, newspapers and audiovisual and graphic materials. VSU s curriculum includes liberal arts education, vocational and instrumental music, professional studies and teacher education, elementary and secondary education, reading and instructional technology, media management, English and mathematics, business management, economics, world history, neuroscience, childhood education, mass communication, agricultural and industrial arts, and foreign languages and literatures.
