In 1988, Thermal Ceramics became a subsidiary of the Morgan Crucible Company of Windsor, England. The company was linked to a global network of refractory and insulation companies. It provides insulation systems for industrial, transportation, appliance and fire protection markets. Thermal Ceramics makes blankets, block insulation, ceramic fiber modules, fired refactory shapes, fire protection duct systems, firebricks and insulating firebricks, micro porous insulation, as well as mortars, paper and felt, pumpables, coatings, mixes, textiles and refactory castables. Thermal Ceramics acquired an additional line of advanced thermal management products and systems that include Min-K Microporous Silica Material, RPC Vacuum Formed shapes, Thermic Refractories, Structural Board Products, MRI Fired Shapes and the Manville US Fiber Operations. Thermal Ceramics holds its main plant and headquarters in Augusta, Ga.
