This Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is a warm and welcome place for community children during after-school hours. While most parents are still working, these kids can enjoy the facility's pool, gym, computer lab, teen center, game room, kitchen and arts and crafts center. There are playing fields outside behind the building, as well as a playground. The Atlanta area unit director is Charlie Smith, who will greet visitors with a smile. Signs around the building encourage children with words such as, "Be a Good Citizen." There is a "Youth of the Month" award, and kids' drawings hung up along interior office windows. The program is balanced with recreational fun as well as educational support and leadership training. Special activities include field trips and volunteer projects for teens.
