Ragamuffin Music Hall offers a rare treat to its patrons, giving locals a chance to showcase their musical talents while offering spectators the opportunity to experience live acoustic music. Customers can sit back and enjoy sweet treats offered by Ragamuffin's on-site coffeehouse/ice-cream parlor and sweet shop. Music lessons, jam sessions, open-mic night and weekend concerts are the bread and butter of this joint. Ragamuffin Music Hall opened its doors in August 2006 by singer and songwriter Jackie Whitaker. In May of 2011 singer songwriter and Nashville Recording Artist Ashley Harris took ownership of the business. Ashley has earned her reputation as an accomplished and critically acclaimed artist and performer with her latest CD "Unfinished Dreams," receiving five stars from Music News Nashville along with five stars from Maverik Magazine in the UK. Her international single Unfinished Woman climbed to the top of the World Indie Record Report to #1 in fall of 2010. Ashley teaches the bulk of the lessons at Ragamuffin offering voice, piano, guitar, performance coaching, songwriting and group Pre-K keyboard classes under the “Lets Play Music” curriculum. Today, Ragamuffin is the perfect spot for music lovers, those who just want enjoy the warm “home-like” ambiance of this intimate music hall or those who wish to sit in its courtyard looking out over the square in historic Roswell while listening to a diverse selection of candlelight concerts.
