Superintendent Thomas Walker and Missionary Annie Lou Walker came to the knowledge of holiness and was sanctified, saved and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Elder Charles Brown at Wynnton Road Church of God in Christ, One day the Lord gave missionary Grace Whittlesey a vision to start prayer meeting in the neighborhood of Kendrick Quarters (now named Southwest View). Missionary Walker and Deacon Walker (at the time) joined her. These saints went to the people in the area to fellowship and have prayer with them. The Lord open many doors at the home of many people, so much until the homes were over crowded. They continued in fellowship and prayer with the people, but need a place for where the people could come together to worship. The lord touched the heart of Mr. T.K. Kendrick to give a tool shed to worship in. The Lord filled it to capacity. Soon another tool shed had to be added to facilitate the people and the Lord also filled it beyond capacity. The Lord ga ve a vision to Elder Thomas Walker to build a church for the people. Again the Lord touched the heart of Mr. Kendrick to give a lot to build a church. He constructed and built Thirtieth Avenue Church Of God in Christ.
