Phi Kappa Theta formed in 1959 from the merger of two older fraternities--Theta Kappa Phi and Phi Kappa. The Delta Rho chapter of Phi Kappa Theta formed at UGA in 1963. Former UGA football coach Vince Dooley is one of the chapter's most recognizable names. Although a historically Catholic fraternity, Phi Kappa Theta embraces all religions. United by the motto, "give expecting nothing thereof," the brothers of Phi Kappa Theta are solid community members participating in many Sorority philanthropies, Relay for Life, ugaHEROS and Habitat for Humanity, just to name a few.
They are active in UGA organizations such as The Red & Black newspaper, UGA Mock Trial, Order of Omega, student government and student political organizations. The Phi Kappa Theta house on South Milledge is representative of the south — white wood with a large porch and rocking chairs.
