Mt. Welcome is a staple of the community in Decatur. The church's rich history goes hand in hand with the history of the city. The church has and still does minister to the community through fellowship, caring and community out reach programs. The church feeds the homeless and provides clothing and school supplies for underprivilaged families. It also offers counseling services.
