History
I learned piano tuning (by ear) and repair from Charles Sullivan in Detroit, graduating from the Detroit School for Piano Tech. in June of 1973. Later I moved to Atlanta where I met Edward Leach who had worked with Hertis Milsap. I worked with him for many years doing piano rebuilding. I've worked in New York and San Francisco. I was co-owner with Greg Perryman of Artist Pianos in Atlanta. In addition to working on pianos I play and teach piano. When tuning, voicing and doing piano action work I bring both the ear and touch of a technician and also of a musician to the task. In doing restoration work I respect the integrity of the instrument as it was originally built. If I can't save what is original I use the best replacements available. My base minimum charge for piano tuning is $135.
