Founded in 1938, the Macon Housing Authority is a public authority that operates under the laws of the State of Georgia. It offers asset development, renovation and property management of residential rental properties. The organization operates housing assistance and management, finance and technical services departments. It provides rental housing for eligible low-income families, senior citizens and people with disabilities. The Macon Housing Authority deals in single-family houses, high-rise apartment buildings, town houses and multifamily units. It manages more than 2,000 public housing units that feature living areas, kitchens and bathrooms.
