Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta launched 25 years ago, with a commitment to increasing adult literacy; since then, it has helped more than 10,000 people learn to read through its programming. The group targets adults age 18 and older who read at or below the 5th-grade level. The organization offers free literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages classes in metro Atlanta, at public libraries and other establishments throughout DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb and Fulton counties. Victoria Kingsland is the organization's executive director.
