Gilliland's Heritage Alpacas is an Alpaca Farm and specialty gift shop located off 124 Highway, serving Barrow and the surrounding areas. The farm has numerous alpaca who get to enjoy the countryside roaming in sunshine and fresh air. Alpacas originated in the Andean mountains of South America and were later imported to the U.S. Alpaca fleece offers a great feel for all types of items and once a year, the alpaca's fleece is shorn off in a process that does not harm the alpaca at all and can be processed into clothing, yarn, blankets and other products. The 100% natural product comes in various colors and can be used in high-end fashions for coats and dresses. The gift shop is located on the farm and has all types of hand made jewelry, felt hats, wine glasses, stained glass items, yarn for knitting, clothing, blankets, sweaters and much more.
