Georgia System Operations Corp., in conjuction with Oglethorpe Power and Georgia Transmission, is one of the largest electric cooperative operators in the United States. GSOC, together with its partners, provides energy services to more than 3 million residents throughout Georgia. It serves 39 of the state s 42 electric membership cooperatives. Georgia System Operations Corporation s primary responsibility is to provide energy scheduling and other system operations functions. Oglethorpe Power, formed in 1974 as a single entity, split into the three different companies due to deregulation. Georgia System Operations Corporation was established in January, 1997.
