Garden of Discovery was founded in 1999 by the mother and daughter team of Carol Smith and Stephanie Michielson. Originally located in a converted house in Grayson, the school moved to a newly constructed school building in 2001 with three primary school classrooms as well as the Toddler Community. The elementary school program was opened in 2004. The school serves children between the ages of 18 months to 12 years old and is accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale.
