Once one of the first high schools in Cobb County, this school now provides special education for students with severe emotional behavior disorders and autism and is part of the Georgia Network of Educational and Therapeutic Support (GNETS). Educators strive to educate and develop the child socially, emotionally and academically as learning takes place inside and outside the classroom, including in the garden, kitchen, school store and home living lab. Classroom sizes are kept small and each instructor has a professional childcare technician to assist with daily management and teaching activities. Among the more important future projects for the school is the continued development of a sensory room to assist students in self-regulating and facilitating self-management skills.
