SI Corporation was founded in 1967 to manufacture sandbag material for the Vietnam War. In 1969, the company began producing products for the carpet market, and SI has now evolved to become the largest U.S.-based manufacturer of polypropylene products with annual sales of more than $425 million. SI s four business units SI Concrete Systems, SI Flooring Systems, SI Geosolutions, and SI Performance Technology currently produce several thousand products in the flooring, construction material, soil stabilization, filtration, automotive, agricultural, home furnishings, and environmental markets. SI operates seven manufacturing facilities in Georgia, Tennessee, and Idaho and employs approximately 2,500 people. The company is one of the largest independent users of polypropylene in the world, consuming more than 400 million pounds a year.
