Cornerstone Sew & Vac opened in September of 1983 in a small space of approximately 1, 00 square feet. Long-time Douglas County locals may remember this location in the shopping center where Joann's Fabrics is currently located. Back then, it was Food Giant and Eckerd's. When we first opened, we carried Singer, New Home ( now known as Janome ), Hoover and Eureka. We also serviced all makes and models of sewing machines and vacuums. Two years later, we moved to the corner of Highway 5 and Douglas Boulevard. We spent so long at that location that most people believed it was where we originally began. During that time, we doubled in size. We began selling Pfaff as a sewing machine line, Simplicity as a vacuum line, and we began selling and installing central vacuum systems. We moved to our current location off Chapel Hill Road in 2005.Our current location gave us expanded showroom space as well as room for continuing education classes. It's easy to find, across from Target, and provides our customers with easier access and more ample parking. Over the years, many things have changed, but our goals are still to provide the best products and service in the West Georgia community.
