History
Callanwolde is the former home of Charles Howard Candler, whose father Asa Candler established the Coca-Cola Company. The property of 12 1/2 acres was converted to fine arts center in 1972. It is located in historic Druid Hills and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Christmas at Callanwolde was started as fundraiser to help restore the mansion and subsidize the arts. Callanwolde teaches all the fine arts and has performances throughout the year. A gallery showing local area, emerging artists is located on the second floor of the mansion. Callanwolde is surrounded by 12 1/2 acres of gardens and is open to the public free of charge when there are no events.
