The Chattooga County School District is overseen by a five-member board of education. The district consists of one high school, one middle school, six elementary schools, two district pre-kindergarten sites and an alternative school. The enrollment in the various schools in the Chattooga County School District is approximately 2,800. Chattooga High School is committed to the academic excellence, comprehensive career and technical training, positive social development and emotional growth of its students. The mission of Summerville Middle School is to enable all students to meet internationally benchmarked standards and to become confident, self-directed learners, prepared for high school without remediation. The mission of the six Chattooga County School District elementary schools is to work in cooperation with parents and the community to prepare children to become lifelong learners and productive citizens. The Chattooga County School District maintains its headquarters in Summerville, Ga.
