Champion Middle School, located near the heart of the historic district of Stone Mountain, claims to be the first traditional theme school in Dekalb County. The school offers a tightly structured learning setting, and students must maintain a 2.5 grade average or higher in all subjects in order to remain in the program. Parental involvement is stressed, and parents are required to put in eight hours of service to the school per semester and to participate in the Parent-Teacher Student Association.
